We may have nucs available occasionally through August with our local queens. We will have approximately 300+ nucs available in April/May 2011 and will begin taking orders and deposits after January 1st. Order early for 2011!
Please contact us in January of 2011 for package bee availability. Also, please consider a nuc next season. They are worth the additional cost and will offer you better success!
We offer hygenic Italian, Russian, and occasionally Carneolin queens produced from inspected apiaries from which we have had good results. Market prices for queens change but should range from $18 to $25 each. Marking $3 extra. Please order ahead when possible. Available from mid-april on.
We will also plan to offer a limited number of our own Wild Mountain queens for sale this year. Our apiary has been assembled from a wide variety of strains and sources including, but not limited to: Minnesota hygenic, Italian, Russian, Carneolin, Buckfast, and unknown strains removed from barns, houses, and "wild" bee trees. There are a lot of beekeepers in these mountains. This makes it difficult to maintain any particular strain without requeening your and your neighbors hives annually. We aim for as much diversity as possible and will be focusing on selecting queen mothers from our strongest, most productive hives which have proved their overwintering/survival capabilities for at least two seasons. Available on a limited basis from June on, $18 each, marking $3 extra.
