The Bee Informed Partnership’s core idea is that we can learn more by studying honey bee health on a large scale than we can in individual lab experiments. Borrowing traditional methods of cancer research from human medicine, we gather huge amounts of data submitted by beekeepers to understand just two things: How many hives they lost last season and how they kept their bees during that season.

Asheville Green Works - 2017 Pollination Celebration
Pollination Celebration! takes place during the whole month of June 2017, and is a community-wide celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats, beetles, flies, and other species that help pollinate one out of every three bites of food you eat! About 90% of all wild plants and trees rely on pollinators for the survival of their species. Pollinators also support healthy ecosystems that clean our air, stabilize soils, and support other wildlife. Come out to our Pollination Celebration! events to learn more about native pollinators, pollination, why we need pollinators, and how pollinators need your help!
